Finishing options

Here we present our different finishes in detail.

  • Dispersion coating matt or glossy

An aqueous coating is applied as the fifth color after the material is printed to protect the printing inks. This coating is barely noticeable and extremely subtle, and thus has a protective rather than a finishing quality. For some products, it is possible to choose between a glossy or matte dispersion coating, with the difference being only slightly visible to the naked eye.

Basically, this protective coating enhances the effect of matte or glossy picture printing paper. This coating is not suitable for products that may still need to be labeled or stamped, such as stationery, the reverse sides of postcards or invitation cards.

  • Foil lamination matt

Matte cellophaning, or film lamination, refers to the application of a film to the already printed cardboard or paper. The foil strengthens the material and provides additional protection against abrasion.

A matte film lamination offers a soft feel and makes the printing inks appear very soft.

  • Film lamination glossy

Glossy cellophaning, or film lamination, refers to the application of a film to the already printed cardboard or paper. The foil strengthens the material and provides additional protection against abrasion.

A glossy film lamination offers a very smooth feel and makes the printed colors appear very contrasty and glossy.

  • Foil lamination Softtouch

Softtouch® cellophaning, or film lamination, refers to the application of a film to the already printed cardboard or paper. The foil strengthens the material and provides additional protection against abrasion.

It offers a very soft and slightly rough feel (similar to the skin of a peach) and makes the inks appear very soft yet extremely vibrant.

  • Hot foil stamping gold

Hot foil stamping uses heat to apply a foil to graphic areas you select to enhance and highlight them.

Unlike ordinary inks, this creates a real, shimmering gold effect. The surfaces cannot be overprinted.

  • Hot foil stamping silver

Hot foil stamping uses heat to apply a foil to graphic areas you select to enhance and highlight them.

Unlike ordinary inks, this creates a real, shimmering silver effect. The surfaces can not be overprinted.

  • Partial UV coating

A UV varnish is a transparent protective varnish that is applied as a fifth color according to CMYK on areas you want.

In this way, individual elements, texts or logos can be tangibly highlighted.

  • Blind embossing

Blind embossing involves creating an intricate magensium stamp in the shape you want. The paper or packaging board is then embossed with this design so that it appears raised on the front.
