But how do you design a folding box correctly so that your own product packaging looks appealing and markets itself well? That's what we explain in this blog. First, there was an idea

Let's start with phase 1 of your personal folding box. First of all, you should think about which customer group your product and also the printed folding box should address. This determines not only the choice of materials for the cardboard boxes, but also your future packaging design! We have defined three target groups in more detail:

I. Modern & Luxurious - Folding Boxes for e.g. Cosmetics or Medicine

For this target group, the design of your folding box should be kept simple yet modern. For this purpose, it is recommended to choose our Symbol Card cardboard. By the way, this is also our standard cardboard, which is particularly inexpensive. But one thing first: cheap does not mean cheap! Because our cardboard for folding boxes offers an enormous degree of whiteness for optimal color brilliance. We have listed all the properties of the cardboard here.

To make your folding box even more valuable, you can choose in the folding box configurator e.g. a gold or silver hot foil stamping. With this finish, we emboss a real foil in your desired color on individual elements. This gives them a strong shine and makes them stand out from the rest of the design.

Folding cartons for cosmetics or medical products should therefore be

• not contain too many elements
• Colors like blue or purple should be used
• Modern fonts without serifs

II. Natural and ecological - folding boxes for e.g. food supplements & organic products

If your product is to be marketed in a particularly environmentally conscious way, the Symbol Card carton is also suitable, but in this case we print it for you on the rough surface of the carton. Thus, the smooth surface is on the inside of the box and the rough, slightly uneven and untreated surface is on the outside. The printing inks have a particularly soft effect here so that not only the feel but also the look appears environmentally conscious.

Also recommended are our unique cardboards from Fedrigoni - The second material in our configurator called Tintoretto Gesso, for example, has an uneven surface like the peel of an orange. But also the third material Stucco Aquarelle offers a surface that is crisscrossed with tangible lines.

When designing your ecological folding box, there is no limit to your creativity. Especially natural design elements like leaves or watercolor backgrounds are optimal. Also warm colors like a light brown, green, orange or a strong blue look serious and noble.

Folding boxes for dietary supplements or organic products should therefore be

• be printed on a special material
• Colors like brown, orange, green or a dark blue contain
• Fonts with squiggles and serifs contain

III. healthy and delicious - folding boxes for e.g. food or popcorn

Folding boxes for food products such as popcorn, chips or sushi should be designed in an eye-catching and colorful way. Because you want to increase the expectation of the product with the design of the folding box. Colors such as a bright red, a colorful orange and also black tones may be used here. In case of direct food contact, you must select the food grade cardboard in the folding box configurator. Only this cardboard is food certified and may come into contact with greasy food.

A design for food boxes should therefore

• Especially colorful are designed
• Be designed with photos of food and interesting elements
• On a food cardboard are printed
